Corundum
Corundum is an extremely wear-resistant broadcast aggregate based on natural aluminum oxide. Corundum can be bonded as an additive with many types of binders, such as cement or resin. By using corundum as an additive, the wear and slip resistance of the surface is increased.
The rough surface of corundum creates a very strong bond with the binder, and the grain provides excellent grip for tires and shoe soles.
Application
Corundum is suitable for many different heavy-duty applications such as loading docks, parking garages, warehouse and industrial floors, bridges, and airports. Corundum can be used in very wear-resistant layers.
Features
High hardness & toughness
High wear resistance because corundum is not brittle
Nearly chemically inert, which makes it resistant to weathering and unaffected by diluted acid, alkali, gasoline, grease, or oil.
